The nutrition support plan for children under 5 years will be implemented from the beginning of this year with the allocation of over 8 trillion tomans. This news was announced by Ahmad Ismailzadeh, the Director General of the Community Nutrition Improvement Office of the Ministry of Health, at a press conference. According to him, 263,000 children under 5 years will be covered by this plan, which aims to improve the nutrition and health of this important age group.
Nutrition Challenges for Children and Dairy Consumption
Ahmad Ismailzadeh further referred to the nutritional status of Iranian households and said: "Iranian households consume, on average, less than one dairy unit per day." This indicates a decrease in dairy product consumption in the country, which negatively impacts the establishment of healthy eating habits, especially among children. Dairy products, as an important source of calcium and other nutrients, are vital for the growth and development of children, and a decrease in their consumption can have serious consequences for the health of future generations.
