Showers and thunderstorms in the provinces of West Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Gilan, and Mazandaran will continue until the end of this week. Fariba Goudarzi, a meteorologist from the National Meteorological Organization, has predicted that these rains will be observed with varying intensity in other northern provinces and the southern slopes of the Alborz Mountains.

Risk of Natural Hazards

The predicted rains, along with temporary strong winds, in East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, and the heights of various provinces could lead to rising river waters and flooding of roads. Additionally, there is a possibility of runoff, lightning strikes, falling of old trees, and damage to agricultural products. Goudarzi pointed out the existence of a yellow weather warning in these areas and urged caution when passing through mountainous regions and ensuring the stability of temporary structures.

Dust Storm in the Eastern Strip of the Country

Meanwhile, the phenomenon of strong winds and dust storms continues in the eastern strip of the country. Goudarzi explained that the weather conditions in Iraq have led to the formation of a dust mass, which may penetrate into the western provinces of the country. This situation could lead to reduced horizontal visibility and air quality in eastern South Khorasan, northern Sistan and Baluchestan, and other provinces. In such conditions, the use of masks in desert and arid areas is especially recommended for sensitive groups.

Goudarzi also reported that the Persian Gulf, Oman Sea, Strait of Hormuz, and Caspian Sea will be rough and turbulent from Tuesday to Friday. In Tehran, a clear to partly cloudy sky is predicted, with a possibility of scattered showers in the heights. Temporary strong winds are also expected in Tehran, which will be stronger on Wednesday.

The maximum temperature today in Tehran is 30 degrees Celsius, which is a decrease of one degree compared to yesterday. Additionally, the average temperature in the country over the past week has increased by 2.9 degrees Celsius compared to the long-term average. The highest temperature increase was recorded in Semnan Province with 4.1 degrees and Tehran Province with 4 degrees. Hormozgan Province also recorded the least temperature change compared to the long-term average.
