Amin Hossein Naqshineh, an expert at the National Meteorological Organization, today forecasted scattered rainfall and occasional thunderstorms in the heights of West Azerbaijan. Naqshineh added: "In other regions of the country, the sky is clear and a relative increase in temperature is expected."

Forecast of Rainfall and Temperature Decrease

Naqshineh, referring to the influx of northern currents to the western shores of the Caspian Sea, announced that from late Thursday, cloud cover and rainfall are expected for the eastern parts of Ardabil and Gilan. Additionally, on Friday, rainfall is anticipated in northern West Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Gilan, and Mazandaran. During this period, a relative decrease in temperatures is also expected in these areas.

Strong Winds and Dust Storm Possibility

The expert from the National Meteorological Organization regarding strong winds in the country said: "Strong temporary winds are forecasted in the east, southeast, and northeast of the country." This situation may lead to dust storms in susceptible areas. Furthermore, in the next 3 days, the western Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will also be rough and turbulent.

Naqshineh pointed out the increase in wind speed and wave height in the provinces of Khuzestan and Bushehr, as well as in the coastal areas of Hormozgan province. This situation comes with a yellow marine weather warning and poses risks including the possibility of drowning for swimmers and divers, tearing of fishing nets, and damage to fish farming cages. Caution is advised in recreational and fishing activities and the movement of light and semi-heavy vessels.

Temperature Status in Tehran

Naqshineh also discussed the temperature status in Tehran, saying: "In the next 5 days, the sky in Tehran will be clear, and strong temporary winds are expected in areas of southern Tehran province, which may be accompanied by dust storms and decreased air quality." Temperature fluctuations in Tehran will range between 23 to 33 degrees Celsius, with a maximum temperature reaching 36 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday.

The report from the National Meteorological Organization also indicates that the average temperature in the country over the past week has increased by 2.3 degrees Celsius compared to the long-term period. The highest temperature increase was recorded in Alborz province with 4 degrees and North Khorasan province with 3.2 degrees. Kurdistan province recorded the least temperature change compared to the long-term average with 1 degree, while Tehran province also saw a 3-degree increase in this comparison.
