- Salami (beef or chicken) 15 slices
- Gouda cheese (sliced) 15 slices
- Phyllo dough or yufka dough 15 sheets
- Melted butter or olive oil 50 grams
- 1 egg
- Sesame seeds or black seeds (for decoration) as needed
Remove the phyllo or yufka dough from the packaging and gently separate the sheets. To adjust the size of the rolls, you can cut each sheet of dough into 2 or 3 parts. Cut the Gouda cheese slices and salami according to the size of the dough.
Important Tips for Preparation
To prevent the phyllo dough from drying out, keep the remaining sheets under a clean, slightly damp cloth. Then, place one sheet of dough on the work surface and gently brush the surface with melted butter or olive oil using a brush. Place a slice of salami on top and then a slice of Gouda cheese. Make sure that the salami and cheese do not cover all the edges of the dough.
Gently fold the bottom edges of the dough over the filling and then start rolling from the bottom up. Roll the rolls relatively tightly so that the cheese does not leak out during baking.
Line the bottom of a baking tray with parchment paper and arrange the rolls with some space in between. In a bowl, beat the egg with a fork and mix it with some melted butter. Brush this mixture over the rolls to give them a beautiful golden color during baking.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and place the tray of rolls in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes until the surface of the dough is golden and crispy.
After baking, remove the tray from the oven and let the rolls cool for a few minutes. Then, arrange them in a beautiful serving dish and serve alongside various sauces such as tomato sauce, mayonnaise, or garlic sauce.
With a little creativity, you can use different types of salami and a variety of cheeses to create a more delicious experience for your guests. Enjoy!
