The personalization of metro ticket cards has begun today at 26 metro stations in Tehran. With this initiative, passengers can register their ticket cards in their own names and benefit from its advantages. Hadi Zand, the Director of Communications and International Affairs of the Tehran Metro Operating Company, provided explanations regarding this matter.

Locations for Personalization Services

According to Hadi Zand, the in-person personalization services for ticket cards are available at various stations including Sadeghiyeh, Theater City, Azadi Square, Imam Khomeini (RA), Enghelab Islamic Square, Azadegan, Shahr-e Rey, Mohammadieh Square, 15 Khordad, Darvazeh Dowlat, Martyr Haqqani, Tajrish, Shadman, University of Science and Technology, Farhangsara, Nematabad, Vali Asr Square (AJ), Jihad Square, Qaim, Bimeh, Eram Sabz, Karaj, Golshahr, Shohada-ye Dolatabad, Tarbiat Modares University, and Ketab Square.

Process of Personalizing Ticket Cards

Zand further explained that in the new process, after registering the passenger's national ID in the sales system, a confirmation code will be sent to their mobile number. After entering the code and final confirmation, the card will be issued and personalized in the passenger's name. This process is designed so that from the time of purchase, new ticket cards are linked to the owner's information, and it will not be possible to purchase a card without registering the owner's information.

The advantage of this personalization is that in case of loss or damage to the card, passengers can retain their credit and follow up as necessary. Zand added: "By registering the owner's information, in case of problems, it will be possible to retain credit and follow up for the passenger."

Benefits of Personalization for Passengers

The Director of Communications and International Affairs of the Tehran Metro Operating Company referred to the connection of this initiative with the smart ticketing of urban transport and stated: "Linking the ticket card to the owner's information is part of the integration and smart ticketing of urban transport, and it can help complete the electronic travel file, utilize insurance capacities, and also pave the way for implementing supportive and targeted discounts by urban management."

Passengers who already have a ticket card do not need to purchase a new card and can connect and personalize their existing card for free to their national ID and mobile number through the "Shahrzad" app or selected kiosks. With this initiative, urban management aims to enhance the quality of services and the safety of passengers.
