The delivery of rental housing units in Tehran will begin in November. Reza Khaleqi, the director general of roads and urban development in Tehran province, stated regarding the rental housing plan for the capital: Registration for this plan took place during Government Week and received a relatively good response.

Process of screening applicants and preparing units

Khaleqi continued: The files of the applicants have been formed and are currently in the manual screening stage. He added: Based on the registration capacity and approved applicants, we have successfully secured the necessary housing units at the provincial level in Tehran. These units are fully equipped and ready for habitation.

Inviting applicants to choose suburban cities

He pointed out the timeline for delivering rental housing units, saying: We are ready to deliver the prepared units starting today. Khaleqi emphasized that a significant portion of the applicants have chosen Tehran as their place of residence, while a large part of the available capacity is located in the suburban cities of Tehran province.

He added: For this reason, we have requested applicants who have chosen Tehran to inform us if they can select other cities in the province, so that if they agree, the process of allocation and delivery of units can be expedited.

Provision and equipping of housing units

The director general of roads and urban development in Tehran province also mentioned the location of the housing units for the rental housing plan, stating: According to the guidelines of the "Ashiane" housing plan, rental units must be provided in medium and lower areas. In Tehran city, we have managed to secure units in regions 15 and 18, which are currently in the equipping stages.

He continued: In the city of Qarchak, a significant capacity has been created for this plan, and the secured units in this city are fully ready for habitation. Khaleqi stated that the capacity created for the rental housing plan in Tehran province is about 1,500 units, of which approximately 1,200 units have been secured by the Tehran provincial roads and urban development office and about 300 units by the New Cities Development Company.

He reminded that the number of registrants and applicants who have been approved in this phase is less than the designated capacity for the province, and therefore we do not face any issues in providing housing units for eligible applicants. Khaleqi emphasized that the units planned for this scheme have been prepared as equipped and habitable, and efforts will be made to ensure that the screening, location determination, and delivery of units are carried out according to the schedule and quickly.
