Payam Ahmadinia, an actor in Iranian cinema and television, has recently addressed the existing problems in the acting industry and the acting mafia in an interview. He openly stated that he has never been part of this mafia and spoke about the challenges that independent actors face.
Challenges of Independent Actors
Ahmadinia mentioned that he is offered superficial and so-called 'dead' roles, saying: 'I have never been and am not in the actors' mafia. They don’t give me a role; they give the so-called dead roles to people like me and Nader Fallah to bring them to life.' He pointed out that many actors are forced to compete under tough conditions to prove themselves, as they neither have famous faces nor special connections in this field.

Efforts to Prove Oneself
Payam Ahmadinia further added: 'As Nader says, we didn’t have a face or connections, we had to prove ourselves by acting well.' This statement reflects his determination and will to advance in a situation where many actors succeed due to relationships and existing mafias. In this conversation, Ahmadinia also referred to the ethical and professional challenges faced by independent actors, stating that they must work hard to find a place for themselves in the film industry.
This actor emphasized that acting is not just about being in front of the camera, but an art that requires effort, practice, and will. He expressed hope that young people and future generations could achieve greater success through hard work and perseverance.
Message to Future Generations
Payam Ahmadinia also called for more attention to be paid to young and emerging talents in the film industry. He believes that a suitable environment should be provided for the emergence of new talents so that they can achieve greater successes through practice and effort. Ahmadinia concluded by saying: 'I hope the future generation can rely on their talents to achieve greater successes and advance Iranian cinema.'
