The country's Meteorological Organization has issued an orange alert for the provinces of Gilan, Mazandaran, Golestan, North Khorasan, Northern Razavi Khorasan, and the eastern Alborz heights, warning of the possibility of heavy rainfall and flooding in these areas. This precipitation system, which will be accompanied by a relative drop in temperature, will remain active until Tuesday in the northern half of the country.

Risks Associated with Heavy Rainfall

Today's rainfall will include showers, thunderstorms, and temporary strong winds. Especially in the provinces of Gilan, Mazandaran, Golestan, North Khorasan, Northern Razavi Khorasan, and the heights of Semnan, there is a possibility of flooding, overflow of seasonal rivers, and waterlogging of streets. For this reason, the Meteorological Organization has urged people to avoid unnecessary travel and exercise caution while commuting.

Yellow Weather Alert

In addition to the orange alert, a yellow weather alert has also been issued for the provinces of Ardabil, East Azerbaijan, the northern half of West Azerbaijan, and Razavi Khorasan. The risks associated with this alert include the possibility of rising river waters, waterlogging of streets, and temporary strong winds. In these areas, there are also risks such as the breaking of old trees and damage to agricultural products.

Fariba Goudarzi, an expert from the country's Meteorological Organization, stated: "Today, strong winds are expected in the southern slopes of Alborz, central, eastern, and northern parts of the country. In some areas, dust and reduced air quality will also be observed."

Impacts on Seas and Marine Traffic

The Caspian Sea, Strait of Hormuz, Persian Gulf, and Sea of Oman will also experience unstable weather conditions. In these areas, an increase in wind speed and wave height in coastal and offshore regions of Gilan and Mazandaran provinces, as well as in Khuzestan, Bushehr, Hormozgan, and Sistan and Baluchestan provinces, is accompanied by a yellow marine warning. Risks such as the possibility of drowning for swimmers and divers, disruption in marine traffic, and damage to fish farming cages have also been reported.

Temperature Status in Tehran and Other Provinces

In Tehran, it is predicted that rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and temporary strong winds will continue. Currently, the maximum temperature in Tehran is reported to be 29 degrees Celsius. Additionally, recent studies show that the average temperature in the country has increased by 2.2 degrees Celsius compared to the long-term period over the past week. The province of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari has seen the highest temperature increase at 3.4 degrees, and Ilam province at 2.9 degrees.
