Red Crescent Society's readiness against floods
Khaledi added: In this context, special retraining courses for operational forces have been held, and the bases have been equipped with facilities including water pumps and specialized equipment for rescuing missing persons. Requests for assistance and safety recommendations
He continued: So far, requests for assistance have been registered by people in the provinces of Mazandaran, Lorestan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, and Isfahan. Fortunately, no reports of serious injuries or fatalities resulting from these incidents have been announced so far. Khaledi emphasized the necessity of adhering to safety recommendations by the public and called for refraining from unnecessary travel, especially in the western provinces including Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Zanjan, Lorestan, and Khuzestan until Tuesday.
He also urged people to avoid stopping and staying near rivers, especially seasonal rivers. Khaledi warned drivers that crossing flooded paths can be dangerous, and even a depth of about 30 centimeters of water can cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle. Therefore, drivers should avoid crossing paths with flowing water and bridges that are exposed to strong water currents.
The spokesperson for the Red Crescent Society also announced the possibility of school closures in some provinces and urged families to inquire about the status of school activities or closures before sending their children to school. Finally, he advised senior executives of executive agencies to pay special attention to the issue of workplace flooding, especially in healthcare centers.
