Mehdi Chamran, the Chairman of the Islamic City Council of Tehran, spoke with reporters on the sidelines of the 438th council meeting and referred to some of the ongoing programs. He emphasized that with the implementation of the zero inflation plan, the prices of goods will remain stable, and people are satisfied with this matter.

New Programs in Housing and Transportation

In this session, Chamran stated that the Vice Chairman of the council will present his pre-scheduled speech and referred to the neighborhood tour report of one of the districts. He also announced the review of several auditing reports and the pricing of services from transportation companies, saying: "The establishment of a headquarters for the gardens of Koohsar and Kon is also on the agenda."

The Chairman of the Islamic City Council of Tehran added: "The three-cabin buses that have entered the country have not yet arrived in Tehran, and we have plans for utilizing these buses. Additionally, in the housing sector, token sales have been conducted and well received."

Management Challenges and Necessities

Chamran spoke about the special conditions of Tehran and the need for actions beyond legal duties, adding: "Government agencies and philanthropists must cooperate in this regard. There are conditions similar to the wartime that require assistance for reconstruction." He also referred to the issue of waste pickers, stating: "Unfortunately, these individuals have returned to the streets and need to be organized."

Furthermore, Chamran discussed transportation plans such as creating a special lane for motorcyclists in District 14, saying: "We have not yet seen the plan for this matter, and the municipality of District 4 has taken actions in this regard."

The Chairman of the Islamic City Council of Tehran also referred to the Yas Fatemi Park and emphasized: "The closure of this park has security reasons, and there is absolutely no other specific reason for its closure."

In response to criticisms regarding the zero inflation plan, Chamran stated: "Keeping prices stable is a valuable task that must be executed correctly. We are currently observing the plan and hope that people will be satisfied with it."

The Chairman of the Islamic City Council of Tehran explained about the reconstruction of Azadi Stadium: "This issue must be approved in the Article 5 Commission and the council, and the government has not yet delegated this matter. We are reviewing the budget to assist with this project."

Chamran concluded by emphasizing the importance of cooperation between institutions and government agencies, expressing hope that with the efforts made, the city of Tehran will move towards improvement and sustainable development.
