Hosein Shariatmadari, the editor-in-chief of Kayhan, in a new note examined the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the U.S. and referred to Washington's insistence on including our country's nuclear program in these negotiations. According to him, this insistence from the U.S. is actually a reflection of its failures against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Nuclear Program; Condition or Trick?

Reports indicate that during the exchange of messages between Iran and the U.S., mediated by Qatar and Pakistan, the U.S. emphasizes the necessity of diluting 400 kilograms of Iran's 60 percent uranium and inspecting nuclear facilities. However, Iranian officials, inspired by the views of the Supreme Leader, firmly rejected this proposal and stressed the realization of Iran's seven proposed conditions.

U.S. Failures and Changes in Approaches

Shariatmadari, in this note, referred to the military failures of the U.S. and the Zionist regime, stating that these two countries had explicitly declared that their main goal in attacking Iran was to overthrow the Islamic Republic. However, the reality is that the Islamic Republic of Iran not only was not harmed but became one of the world's leading powers. The U.S. predictions failed dramatically, and the Iranian people, by supporting the regime, organized unprecedented gatherings.

It is noteworthy that the U.S. insistence on including Iran's nuclear program in negotiations is clearly a result of its failures in previous wars. This approach seeks to conceal its failures by presenting a new condition, and in Shariatmadari's words, aims for a face-saving exit from the war.

It seems that these U.S. schemes have repeated in history, and signs of similar pretexts as seen in the attack on Iraq are taking shape. By rejecting the U.S. requests, Iran has shown that the country's nuclear program should not be part of the negotiations.

Ultimately, Shariatmadari emphasized the necessity of revising Iran's nuclear policies and withdrawing from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), considering this as one of the essential actions to safeguard the country's interests.
