Mohammad Akhondi, the head of the Planning and Budget Commission of the Tehran Islamic City Council, introduced auditing firms to oversee the financial performance of the municipality and its affiliated organizations during the 437th meeting of the Tehran Islamic City Council. These selections were made to conduct the 2026 audit of the council and the municipality and include various institutions that will operate in different areas.
Introduction of Auditing Firms
Akhondi pointed out the selection of Aghram Negar Arya for auditing the General Directorate of Financial Affairs and Assets, inventory management, and budget execution, adding that this firm will also be responsible for auditing the Bus Company, Hamshahri Company, and other companies affiliated with the municipality in various regions of Tehran. The Etminan Bakhsh firm has also been selected for auditing regions 3, 7, 8, 12, 4, 6, 9, 10, 11, 13, and 15.
Auditing Other Regions and Organizations
Akhondi further noted that the Hejiran firm has been selected for auditing regions 17, 20, 22, as well as the Tehran Air Quality Control Company and the Metro Station Complex Company. Additionally, the Behrad Mashar firm will be responsible for auditing the Center for Renovation and Administrative Transformation, the Center for Studies, and other organizations related to urban development.
He stated that the Nakunegarsh auditing firm has been selected for auditing the Shahr-e Aftab Company, the Taxi Organization, and other related companies. The Razdar firm has also been designated for auditing the Waste Management Organization and other organizations related to transportation and passenger terminals.
Akhondi emphasized that these selections were made with the maximum votes in favor from the city council members, aiming to increase transparency and oversight of the financial performance of the municipality and its affiliated organizations. This action could help improve the performance and efficiency of Tehran's municipality and enhance public trust in the urban management system.
