Kambiz Mirkarimi, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of Iran's commercial capacities and the need for investment in transportation infrastructure in an interview. He pointed to the infrastructural limitations and the hesitation of foreign investors at the borders, stating: "The government should prioritize investment in rail and road networks instead of allocating limited resources to unnecessary subsidies, activating alternative commercial routes to bypass sanctions."
The Need for Investment in Transportation Infrastructure
Mirkarimi, emphasizing Iran's commercial capacities, pointed to the existing challenges in this area. He said: "Despite its excellent geographical position, Iran needs investment in transportation infrastructure. Especially under the current conditions where sanctions have put a lot of pressure on the country's economy, we must seek solutions to facilitate trade."
Alternative Routes and Bypassing Sanctions
This Chamber of Commerce member considered activating alternative commercial routes a necessity and added: "Instead of relying on unnecessary subsidies, we should pay more attention to transportation infrastructure. This not only helps facilitate trade but can also attract foreign investors."
He also pointed out that the existing hesitations among foreign investors could be reduced by improving infrastructure and creating secure commercial routes. In his opinion, if the government pays attention to these issues, there can be hope for improving the economic and commercial situation of the country.
