Gilan, with an occupancy rate of 98%, has secured the highest level of tourist attraction in Shahrivar 1405. Meanwhile, Mazandaran and Ardabil follow with 95% and 93%, respectively. This data, released by the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, provides a clear picture of the tourism situation in the country's provinces.

Challenges and Opportunities in the Tourism Sector

The occupancy rate of accommodation centers in 16 provinces of the country until 22 Shahrivar 1405 shows that some provinces have faced a significant increase in occupancy rates, while others remain at a lower level. For instance, South Khorasan, with an occupancy rate of 26%, holds the lowest rank among them. The situation in this province clearly indicates the challenges it faces in attracting tourists.

The Role of Gilan and Mazandaran in Tourism Development

Looking at the statistics, Gilan, with an increase in occupancy from 95% in Shahrivar 1404 to 98% in Shahrivar 1405, is recognized as the most successful province in attracting tourists. Additionally, Ardabil and East Azerbaijan have also faced significant increases in this regard. These increases, alongside the stable occupancy rate in Mazandaran, reflect the continuous efforts of these provinces to improve tourism infrastructure and provide better services to travelers.

On the other hand, Fars, with a decrease in occupancy from 96% to 85%, and Kurdistan and Isfahan with similar declines, are facing new challenges in attracting tourists. These changes may stem from various factors that require further investigation.

Significant Disparities in Tourist Attraction Among Provinces

Comparing the occupancy rate statistics of accommodation centers at three different times (Ordibehesht and Shahrivar 1405 and Shahrivar 1404) shows a high diversity in the status of provinces. For example, Qom has experienced a positive transformation with an increase in occupancy from 15% in Ordibehesht to 80% in Shahrivar, while some provinces like South Khorasan and Khuzestan remain at lower levels.

Overall, the statistics indicate that while some provinces are on the path of growth and tourism development, others face serious challenges in this area. This situation requires more attention and precise planning from the authorities and tourism planners of the country.
