Necessary Actions and Future Decisions
Tajgardoon further mentioned in his letter the actions that need to be taken and emphasized that the Parliamentary Supervision Office has submitted a copy of the Chamber of Commerce's letter to the Planning and Budget Commission. This correspondence emphasized the necessity of examining existing obstacles and adopting practical solutions to resolve the issues. He requested Hemmati to review the matter urgently and, while identifying the reasons for non-payment, to take necessary actions to settle the demands.
At the end of the letter, Tajgardoon requested that the results of the investigations and actions taken be communicated in writing to the commission so that the matter can be followed up within the framework of the parliamentary oversight duties. This request comes at a time when Mohammad Reza Aref, the First Vice President, has also emphasized the necessity of resolving the 4.07 billion euro currency demands of importers of essential goods and called for decisions to be made by the heads of the branches of government.
In the past two weeks, this currency debt issue has become one of the most newsworthy topics, and its impacts on the country's food security have led to challenges for the government and importers. Additionally, the Central Bank has issued a statement emphasizing the provision of the currency demands of importers of essential goods as soon as possible and expressed hope that necessary decisions will be made in cooperation with the government and relevant agencies.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Economy has also confirmed that the 4 billion euro demand of importers of essential goods is being pursued, and necessary decisions are being reviewed by the Cabinet and the Supreme Economic Coordination Council of the heads of the branches of government. The Legal Deputy of the Presidency has also proposed solutions such as paying part of these demands from the National Development Fund.
