Hamidreza Kashani, the chairman of the board of the National Poultry Farmers Union, reported a significant increase in the production costs of eggs and emphasized that this price increase has a direct impact on the market. He pointed out a 15 to 20 percent increase in the prices of animal feed ingredients, including soybean meal and corn, over the past two months, and also mentioned a 100 percent rise in the prices of medicines and vitamins, stating: "These factors have caused production costs to rise sharply."
Egg Market Status and Poultry Farmers' Losses
Kashani continued by addressing the price of eggs in the market, saying: "Currently, each kilogram of eggs is sold at poultry farms for 230,000 to 240,000 tomans. Meanwhile, poultry farmers incur losses of between 80,000 to 100,000 tomans for each kilogram of this product sold." This situation has put significant pressure on poultry farmers and placed them in a difficult position.

Export Barriers and the Necessity to Remove Them
The chairman of the National Poultry Farmers Union also referred to the existing restrictions on egg exports and added: "The continuation of these restrictions has intensified the losses of poultry farmers." He emphasized that multiple correspondences have been made to remove export barriers to prevent weakening the motivation of producers. Currently, the country's egg production is projected to reach 120,000 tons in Aban, and considering the domestic consumption of about 105,000 tons, the country is facing a surplus in the production of this product.
Kashani concluded by noting that the reasonable and economic price for each egg carton is 650,000 tomans, and this requires immediate attention and action from officials to remove export barriers so that poultry farmers can sell their surplus production in foreign markets.
