The Woodcutter Bridge, located at the interchange of Sheikh Fazlollah Nouri Highway and Woodcutter Street, is currently nearing its final stages with 83% progress. This project began in the winter of 2024 and aims to facilitate citizen movement, improve local communications, and reduce unnecessary travel routes. The residents of the Tarasht neighborhood are looking forward to this project to alleviate traffic problems and improve access to the northern and southern streets.
Reasons for the Implementation of the Woodcutter Bridge Project
Traffic between the northern and southern sections of Tarasht Street had created many problems for residents due to existing limitations. Before the start of this project, citizens wishing to cross from Timouri Street northward or travel in the opposite direction had to use the Imam Khomeini Highway interchange or pass through the existing underpass. The poor and substandard condition of the underpass over the years has led to numerous incidents, highlighting the necessity for a safe route.

Technical Details and Project Progress
Mehdi Sadaqati, CEO of the Engineering and Urban Development Organization of Tehran Municipality, stated regarding the latest status of this project: "With the completion of concrete pouring totaling 6,400 cubic meters, the installation of the bridge's curbs has also been completed, and currently, the deck isolation, expansion joint implementation, curb execution, and handrail installation are underway." He also added: "Geometric modifications of the accesses from Woodcutter and Timouri Streets to Sheikh Fazlollah Nouri Highway and the implementation of the planned roundabouts are among other actions being executed in this project."
The Woodcutter Bridge project includes the construction of two roundabouts from north to north and south to south, widening the slow lanes of Sheikh Fazlollah Nouri Highway at this point, and geometric modifications of the surrounding streets. These actions are aimed at improving local access, increasing traffic safety, reducing additional travel routes, and organizing vehicle flow in the Tarasht area and surrounding streets.
With the completion and operation of this project, it is expected that part of the traffic problems and access limitations in this area will be resolved, allowing citizens to have a safer and more suitable route for traveling between Woodcutter and Timouri Streets. This bridge will soon be operational in the fall of this year as an important solution for facilitating and securing traffic in this area.
