The box office for Iranian cinemas reached 83 billion tomans last week, and the film 'Mrs. Mother' directed by Soheil Moafagh, with a box office of 58 billion tomans, topped the chart. This film started its screening on September 16 and has achieved remarkable success with 415,125 tickets sold.

The Story of Two Brothers and an Unexpected Inheritance

The film 'Mrs. Mother' tells the story of two indebted brothers who, in difficult financial circumstances, learn about an unexpected inheritance. This sudden entry into their lives leads to misunderstandings and humorous situations. Reza Attaran and Abbas Jamshidi Far shine as the two main brothers in this film, while Shabnam Ghorbani, Gholamreza Nikkhah, and Giti Qasemi are also prominent actors in this work.

Competitors in the Shadow of 'Mrs. Mother'

While the total box office for cinemas has decreased compared to the previous week, other films have not been able to compete with 'Mrs. Mother'. The film 'Escort' directed by Youssef Hatami Kia ranks second with a box office of 6 billion 578 million tomans. This film tells the story of a soldier who enters the dangerous world of smugglers to save his friend's life.

In third place is the film 'Alive Shour' directed by Kazem Danesh, which depicts the story of a prosecutor who travels to another city to carry out a death sentence, with Bahram Afshari and Sara Bahrami as its actors.

In addition to these works, the animation 'Rescue Ship' and the film 'Pool' rank next with box offices of 4 billion 455 million and 4 billion 401 million tomans, respectively. While 'Rescue Ship' tells the story of two children on a distant planet, 'Pool', starring Mehran Modiri and Amin Hayayi, follows the adventures of its characters.

Iranian cinemas attracted 628,033 viewers with 20,548 screenings last week. This statistic indicates an 11 billion toman decrease compared to the previous week and raises questions about the future of cinema in Iran and the need to attract more audiences.
