Malek Hadpour Siraj, an actor in cinema, theater, and television, recently discussed the experiences of today's and yesterday's warriors and expressed his deep feelings on this subject. He pointed out that the challenges of playing the roles of current warriors indicate that today's people in war are far more complex than past warriors.

Bitter and Sweet Experiences

Siraj stated that the warriors who are currently in the battlefields experience moments that previous generations have never understood, adding: "I have seen warriors at the launcher points. They have not seen the color of light at all during this time. No one should see them. How can we play the role of this warrior?"

This actor emphasized that even the families of the warriors cannot easily say that their children are warriors, expressing his embarrassment and shame from his experiences during the war. He recalled how during the war, they proudly boarded buses, whereas today's warriors are in a different and difficult situation.

Shame from the Past

Malek Hadpour Siraj continued by recalling a memory from the war. He spoke about being injured during the Abadan siege operation and how he felt embarrassed in the hospital when seeing other injured people, wrapping his leg with a cloth. He stated: "When I want to compare the warriors of the eight years of the Sacred Defense with today's warriors, I feel ashamed to say I have been a warrior! We are so far apart."

This deep and genuine feeling of Siraj reflects the difficulties that today's actors face in trying to portray the reality of warriors. He acknowledged that to play the roles of current warriors, he must behave in a way that imitates them, while acting in roles from the past was much easier.

In response to the question of how much the films of the Sacred Defense have been able to depict the realities of those days, Siraj emphasized that he finds it hard to empathize with the actors who perform in these films. However, he mentioned the film "Maqe'iyat Mahdi" and said he liked this work and empathized with many of its moments.

Malek Hadpour Siraj pointed out that to understand the mood of today's warriors, more effort is needed, referring to the kind of pressure that rests on the shoulders of actors. He spoke with deep feelings about today's warriors, adding: "These days, it is hard for me to understand the warriors, but I must strive to portray their roles well."
