Ali Shamsipour, the head of the Tehran Studies and Planning Center, announced the achievement of two international awards by this center. This success is seen as a sign of the maturity of urban research and Tehran's scientific capabilities on a global scale. Shamsipour stated: “Winning awards and being recognized in international competitions puts the name of Tehran's urban management on the global map.”

International Opportunities for Experience Exchange

Shamsipour emphasized the importance of international awards as an opportunity to assess scientific achievements and exchange experiences with global experts, referring to the selection of two research projects from the center in international events. These two projects were introduced as distinguished and commendable works in Istanbul and Italy. The project “Assessment of Urban Green Space Continuity” aimed at reducing inequality in citizens' access, achieved a position in the Istanbul award. Additionally, the guideline “Utilization of Farahzad River Valley” was recognized as a commendable work at the International Green Space Exhibition in Italy.

The Necessity of Strengthening Scientific Communications

The head of the Tehran Studies and Planning Center emphasized the necessity of strengthening international scientific communications and said: “These communications should become a continuous process for knowledge transfer and improving the quality of decision-making in urban management.” He pointed out efforts to limit interactions among domestic researchers and announced the center's actions regarding the publication of research abstracts on the official website, stating: “This process will continue to develop joint projects and address the challenges of major cities worldwide.”

Small-Scale Projects and Their Impact

Shamsipour concluded by emphasizing the importance of small-scale projects, stating: “To achieve effective results, expensive projects are not necessary. A small but precise action based on a correct understanding of the issue can have the greatest impact on the quality of life of citizens.” These remarks reflect Tehran's urban management approach to improving the quality of life for citizens through scientific and practical research.
