U.S. sanctions have seriously impacted Iran's flights, canceling all air routes from this country to the UAE. This development has not only affected airlines but has also impacted the daily lives of thousands of Iranians.

Impact of Sanctions on International Airlines

Previously, Azerbaijan, Oman, and Georgia had also halted the entry of Iranian planes due to sanctions pressure. Baghdad Airport has joined this trend and has stopped accepting Iranian flights. These decisions, along with the prohibition of Iranian planes from flying over Turkmenistan, have caused the Tehran-Dushanbe (Tajikistan) flight to return to Imam Airport.

Daily Life of Iranians Under Pressure

Recent bans have caused confusion and severe anxiety among Iranian travelers. Students and patients who traveled abroad for medical and educational services are now facing serious problems. Additionally, Iranians who have returned to the country for a short time and intend to go back are encountering new challenges.

In response to these sanctions, Iranian officials have warned that cooperation from neighboring countries with the U.S. government could have serious consequences for regional airports. Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, stated that airports cooperating with the sanctions would face the risk of paralysis.

Earlier, on September 8, the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control placed 36 targets related to Iran's aviation industry on the blacklist and revoked the necessary permits for Western passenger planes to operate in Iran. However, the future of Iranian flights depends on the decisions of various countries. For example, the Airports of Thailand has announced that it cannot prohibit Iranian flights without government instructions.

Nevertheless, some flights from Iran to international destinations such as Bangkok and Shanghai are still operational. Staff at Mahan Airlines' office in Shanghai have emphasized that they have not received any notification regarding flight cancellations, and ticket sales for the upcoming weeks continue as usual. Meanwhile, China, as one of Iran's largest aviation markets, has protested against the unilateral U.S. sanctions, deeming them illegal.
