The Central Bank of Iran has issued a new directive outlining the conditions for investing in currency investment funds with fixed income. This directive particularly emphasizes the method of receiving and paying currency to investors and seems aimed at facilitating the investment process for both individuals and legal entities.
New Investment Conditions
According to this directive, investors in currency investment funds with fixed income can only receive their currency in the form of one hundred dollar bills (blue dollar). This condition applies to both the issuance of fund units and the redemption of fund units. Thus, the banks managing the operations of these funds are required to adhere to this protocol at all stages of investment.

This decision by the Central Bank is particularly significant for those wishing to invest in currency. Investors can start with a minimum of 10 units (equivalent to 100 dollars) and can invest up to a maximum of 50,000 units (equivalent to 500,000 dollars).
Recent Developments in the Currency Fund Industry
So far, two currency investment funds with fixed income have successfully received operational licenses and subscription approvals from the Central Bank and the Securities and Exchange Organization. Additionally, another fund has reached the stage of receiving preliminary approval. This progress indicates a growing interest in investing through currency funds and the efforts of banks to establish such funds.
Abdolnaser Hemmati, the Governor of the Central Bank, announced that a total of eight banks have submitted requests to establish currency investment funds. These movements indicate a positive change in the currency investment market in Iran and could help attract more capital in this area.
The payment of the principal and realized returns will also be made in currency and in accordance with the regulations and conditions stated in the fund documents. This also assures investors that their investments are conducted under strict supervision and clear conditions.
Ultimately, it seems that this directive from the Central Bank could create a new opportunity for investors. Given the current economic conditions and the need for diversification in investment portfolios, this action could help strengthen the currency market and attract foreign investments. In this regard, investors and market analysts should carefully examine the new conditions and regulations to take advantage of all available opportunities.
