Tehran Urban Management is welcoming students with comprehensive and targeted planning on the eve of the new academic year. The school bells have rung again, and the laughter and excitement of students echo in the yards, but amidst this joy, some benches are emptier than ever; benches that remind us of the martyrs from Minab to Tehran.

Efforts to Address Concerns

Tehran Urban Management has been working for months to address concerns about commuting, providing educational facilities, and necessary supplies. Since the beginning of summer, construction and infrastructure activities have started in over a thousand schools, including asphalt paving, expanding educational services, and equipping school facilities. These efforts particularly focus on public schools to achieve educational and neighborhood equity.

Specialized Civic Schools and Cultural Programs

To compensate for the limitations of textbooks and frequent closures, a plan to establish specialized civic schools has been initiated, with the first one launched under the title "City Educator for the Environment." This school, utilizing modern learning methods such as gamification and specialized workshops, helps students become familiar with their civic rights and responsibilities. Additionally, the development of specialized schools in the fields of safety and crisis management is also planned.

In addition to schools, urban management has special programs for universities and seminaries. The tourism plan "Hello Tehran" helps first-year students from other cities get acquainted with the historical and cultural attractions of Tehran.

This year's budget for the renovation and equipping of public schools has reached approximately 500 billion tomans, nearly double that of last year. This budget has been allocated based on the needs assessments conducted by students and parents.

The "School Mayor" initiative, expanding from 440 to 700 schools, aims to increase social responsibility and familiarize students with electoral processes. This initiative allows students to address school affairs, identify local issues, and communicate them to urban management.

The project for constructing large interactive schools is underway as one of the major promises of urban management. These schools, designed to meet the educational needs of all students, represent a significant step towards achieving educational equity.
