Mohsen Hormizi, as the Deputy Mayor of Tehran, provided explanations regarding the traffic regulations related to the reopening of schools in October. With the start of the academic year and increased traffic on the roads, a series of special measures have been put in place that will be implemented from the beginning of October.

Traffic Restrictions and Construction Operations

Hormizi stated: "The use of the 20-day free traffic quota in the air pollution control zone will be prohibited until the end of October." Additionally, traffic and issuance of waybills for cargo vehicles including the distribution of food and medicine, moving household items, and pickup trucks will be prohibited from 6 to 10 AM from October 1 to 8.

He also noted that any new and ongoing construction operations, especially on highways that lead to the occupation of the roadway, reduction of capacity, blockage of routes, or disruption of traffic, will be halted or suspended from October 1 to 8. Thus, all planning and holding of domestic and international exhibitions at the Tehran International Exhibitions will also be suspended during this period.

Increasing Student Safety

The Deputy Mayor of Tehran also referred to safety measures in schools and said: The renovation and standardization of signs, road markings, and safety equipment around schools have been prioritized before the start of the academic year to increase student safety. Additionally, the identification, improvement, and immediate safety of urban accident-prone areas will be fully completed before the beginning of October.

Hormizi also mentioned the possibility of a work-from-home day for employees during the period from October 1 to 8, which will be subject to approval from the governorate and the cabinet. These measures are designed to reduce traffic and facilitate the movement of students and their families during the school reopening days.

Traffic Organization in the City Center

Hormizi, referring to traffic organization in the city center, announced plans to resolve traffic bottlenecks in the market area and Khyam Street. He said: "A special plan for organizing loading and unloading will be prepared and implemented in cooperation with District 12 and the traffic police."

He also announced the approval of the overall implementation of the "Vibrancy Route" and added: The development of clean transportation methods and the creation of an integrated walking and cycling network according to the maps provided to the 22 districts is being pursued vigorously.

Hormizi concluded by emphasizing: These regulations will be considered a permanent guideline for traffic management during the school reopening days, and their implementation in future years will also be operationally pursued in coordination with the traffic police and the transportation and traffic department.
