Alireza Rashidian, Head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, announced the programs for Hajj Tamattu 1406 and the start of registration for Umrah pilgrimage during the memorial ceremony for the martyrs of Mina. Rashidian stated that all planning for holding Hajj and sending Iranian pilgrims is underway, and it is expected that he will travel to Saudi Arabia next month to sign the memorandum of understanding for next year's Hajj.

Determining the Cost of Hajj 1406

He continued by referring to the price of Hajj 1406, saying: "The final cost of Hajj depends on two important factors; contracts related to services and Saudi companies, as well as the exchange rate announced by the Central Bank." According to him, once these two factors are determined, the final price of Hajj will be established.

Start of Registration for Umrah Pilgrimage

Rashidian explained that the organization's delegation is present in Saudi Arabia to carry out preliminary actions and finalize the executive contracts related to the pilgrims. He expressed hope that registration and sending Umrah pilgrims would begin from mid-October. He also referred to the restrictions imposed in the field of air transport, stating: "The position and decision of the host country regarding the conditions for sending Iranian pilgrims by air have not yet been fully clarified, but we hope that no obstacles will be created for conducting Umrah trips by air."

Planning for Sending Pilgrims

The Head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization continued that for the first round of Umrah, about 20,000 people are planned, and the capacity for subsequent rounds will be announced according to the conditions. He also noted that the price of Umrah has not yet been finalized, but they are trying to ensure that the foreign currency cost of the Umrah trip does not increase.

Rashidian also discussed the status of pilgrimages to Iraq and the closure of Najaf airport to Iranian pilgrims, saying: "The issue of religious travel is outside the scope of international sanctions, and we hope that with the follow-ups carried out, the problem of air travel for Iranian pilgrims to the holy shrines will be resolved in the near future."

Status of Returning Pilgrims

He further referred to the status of pilgrims who were in the process of returning in recent days, explaining: "Pilgrims who traveled by land returned to the country as scheduled, and those who were supposed to return by air also entered the country through land routes." This official also stated that they are working to appropriately utilize the capacity of domestic flights, railways, and road transport.

In conclusion, the Head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization expressed hope that with the finalization of coordination and the provision of conditions, the process of sending Iranian pilgrims for Hajj, Umrah, and holy shrines would continue under suitable conditions.
