He noted: "A significant portion of students are of marriageable age or will soon reach this age. Therefore, planning to promote marriage among students is an important step towards increasing marriage statistics and reducing related social problems."
Student Marriage Programs
Hojjatoleslam Rostami stated that 28 rounds of student marriage celebrations have been held so far, saying: "These programs are usually held with a visit to the presence of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Ridha (AS). The student marriage program owes its special attention to this issue from the martyr Imam. From the very first rounds, he has encouraged students to marry."
He also mentioned that registration for this round began on October 5, and the dispatch of 10,000 couples to Mashhad will start in November. Rostami announced: "This program will include a pilgrimage to Imam Reza (AS), educational sessions with expert professors, and skill workshops for couples."
The head of the representative office of the Supreme Leader in universities also referred to statistics, stating that the divorce rate among student couples participating in the 'Companion to Paradise' program is below 6 percent. This statistic indicates the stability of families in this demographic.
In conclusion, Rostami emphasized the importance of paying attention to the issue of childbearing and promoting it among young people, stating that special programs have been planned to honor the families of university martyrs and also pioneering students in this field. He expressed hope that these programs could help increase marriage and childbearing statistics among Iranian youth.
