Iranian students showcased their abilities once again in the 19th International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad by winning three top individual awards. Seyyed Reza Hosseini, Deputy Minister of Education and Head of the Young Researchers Club, provided explanations about the factors behind this success and ways to continue the brilliance of Iranian students.
Factors of Success in the Astronomy Olympiad
Seyyed Reza Hosseini mentioned the supportive role of the government and the Ministry of Education in his remarks, stating: "We owe part of this success to the collaboration and support of the government and various institutions. The Young Researchers Club, which was revived in 2022, has achieved an independent structure and budget, and these actions have addressed our fundamental needs for growth and progress." He also referred to a reinforcing cycle created by recent successes, adding: "This cycle allows us to learn from past successes and improve our performance in the future by strengthening our weaknesses."

Experience of Success and Transferable Models
Hosseini further pointed out that the successful model of the Astronomy Olympiad can be applied to other scientific fields as well. He said: "One of the most important components of this model is the return of past medal winners to assist new generations. This participation can lead to achievements that have valuable social impacts." He also mentioned recent successes in other fields such as the Artificial Intelligence and Physics Olympiads, adding: "This year, we made significant progress in many Olympiads, and it can be said that it was a year of firsts."
Iranian students were able to achieve the highest scores in both theoretical and practical sections of these competitions and for the first time earned the title of 'Absolute Winner'. Hosseini concluded by saying: "These successes are not only credible honors but also showcase the high level of capabilities of Iranian students in various fields."
This tremendous achievement clearly demonstrates the talent and determination of the country's young generation to succeed in scientific and international arenas. With this success, Iranian students have brought new hope and motivation not only for themselves but for the future of the country.
