Seyed Ali Arzandeh, a young 26-year-old trader, discussed the existing challenges in the field of Iranian fruit exports in a deep and candid interview. As an economic activist in this field, he pointed to the concerning status of the Iranian fruit market abroad, stating that weaknesses in packaging and non-compliance with certain hygiene standards have prevented Iranian products from maintaining their share in global markets.
Challenges of Packaging and Quality
Arzandeh explained that Iranian fruits face competition from foreign rivals in many markets, especially in Russia, and stated that they do not have a clear quality advantage over competing products. He said: "Many fruits from other countries are offered to the market with better packaging and higher standards, and this reduces buyers' willingness to purchase Iranian products."

The young trader specifically pointed to issues related to packaging and added: "Inadequate packaging not only negatively affects the appearance of the products but can also lead to damage to the fruits during transportation. This issue is concerning for foreign buyers, especially in competitive markets, and for this reason, they prefer to go for products with better quality and more suitable packaging."
The Importance of Adhering to Hygiene Standards
In addition to packaging issues, Seyed Ali Arzandeh also mentioned the non-compliance with certain hygiene standards in the production and packaging of Iranian fruits, stating: "This issue can lead to a decrease in buyers' trust in the quality of Iranian products. If we cannot adhere to global standards, it will be difficult to compete in global markets."
He continued that to maintain the market share of Iranian fruits, more attention must be paid to improving the quality of the products and their packaging. Arzandeh believes that collaboration between producers, traders, and government institutions can help improve the current situation. He emphasized that to attract foreign customers, it is essential to consider their needs and preferences and to offer products with better quality and more suitable packaging.
Given the challenges that Seyed Ali Arzandeh outlined, it seems that attention to packaging and adherence to hygiene standards could play a key role in increasing the sales of Iranian fruits in global markets. Otherwise, not only will the market share of these products decrease, but buyers' trust will also be affected.
