Nadergholi Ebrahimi, a member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, addressed the issue of the country's foreign debt in a live televised debate, stating that the country is facing a $110 billion debt to the government. He also pointed out that of this amount, $55 billion has been allocated to some producers, but no goods have entered the country from this currency.
Critical Foreign Currency Situation of the Country
Ebrahimi criticized the lack of adequate oversight on currency allocation during this debate, emphasizing that this situation could lead to more serious economic consequences. He stated that this foreign debt will negatively impact not only producers but the entire economy of the country. Currency Allocation and Lack of Goods Entry
Ebrahimi also pointed out that the allocation of $55 billion in currency to producers should be accompanied by the entry of corresponding goods; however, unfortunately, in many cases, these goods have not arrived in the country. This issue has caused serious problems in the supply chain and production of products in the country. He criticized the supervisory bodies, calling for accountability in this regard, stating that producers and consumers must be suffering from this situation.
In this debate, Jamal Mirzaei, the head of the Tire Manufacturers Association, also spoke and expressed concern about the current situation, emphasizing the need for cooperation between the government and the private sector to solve economic problems. He believes that if the currency issues are not resolved, producers will not be able to continue their activities, leading to a market crisis.
This debate clearly illustrates the serious economic challenges facing the country regarding foreign debts and producers' problems. In a situation where the country is facing sanctions and multiple economic issues, greater attention must be paid to matters related to currency allocation and the entry of goods into the market to hope for an improvement in the country's economic situation.
