Ali Marvi, former head of the Business Environment Improvement Center of the Ministry of Economy, has emphasized in discussions that reforming anti-production laws and removing administrative barriers can significantly improve the status of exports and imports. These reforms seem particularly necessary in the current conditions where the country is facing economic challenges.
The Need for Transformation in Economic Laws
Marvi believes that the existing laws regarding exports and imports are a major obstacle for producers due to administrative and bureaucratic complexities. He stressed that to improve the business environment in Iran, the Islamic Consultative Assembly needs to pay special attention to this issue and take serious actions towards reforming the laws.
Consequences of Not Reforming Laws
Neglecting this issue can have multiple negative consequences for the country's economy. For example, producers are forced to incur additional costs and face long delays in export and import processes. These issues not only negatively affect the economic performance of production units but will gradually reduce their competitiveness in international markets.
Marvi also pointed out that creating a clear and simple legal framework for economic activities can help attract foreign investment and increase exports. He urged the parliament to collaborate with economic activists and experts to establish laws that facilitate business activities.
Challenges Facing Producers
Iranian producers are currently facing multiple challenges in securing raw materials and sales markets. These difficulties become more pronounced, especially under economic sanctions and the depreciation of the national currency. If the parliament does not take action to reform laws and remove administrative barriers, an uncertain future awaits the country's production sector.
Ultimately, Marvi emphasized that reforming export and import laws will not only benefit producers but can also contribute to improving the country's economic situation and enhancing the standard of living for the people. He called on all stakeholders to cooperate in this path and raise a unified voice for positive changes in the country's economic system.
