Pejmanian, the President, firmly called on the international community at the summit of the member countries of the Convention on Biological Diversity to participate in compensating for the environmental damages caused by wars and economic sanctions. He stated that countries under sanctions and military aggression should not bear the heavy costs of these crises alone.
The voice of countries that are victims of war and sanctions
In his speech, Pejmanian emphasized that the world must accept that countries affected by war and sanctions are the victims of these crises and should not bear the burden of environmental costs. He pointed out that these countries are usually not the initiators of wars, and therefore, the responsibility for compensating for the environmental damages caused by these issues should fall on the global community.

The necessity of international cooperation for environmental protection
The President further added: "We must pay attention to the reality that wars and sanctions not only have economic impacts but also cause serious damage to the environment. Since these countries are not capable of compensating for these damages alone, international cooperation must be strengthened in this regard." Pejmanian reminded that developing countries affected by wars need serious and practical support from the global community to restore and protect their environment.
He also referred to the role of international organizations and developed countries in this regard and said: "An operational plan for compensating for environmental damages must be developed and implemented, which includes financial, technical, and educational support. This cooperation should be such that it helps the affected countries achieve sustainability in environmental matters." Pejmanian emphasized that only through collaboration and mutual understanding can we respond to the environmental challenges arising from wars and sanctions and step towards a better future.
