Kobra Rafiei, an expert from the national meteorological organization, announced the arrival of a new precipitation system in the country that is set to begin operations from the northwest starting tomorrow. This precipitation system will cause rain showers and thunderstorms in several provinces and is expected to be particularly intense in some areas.

Forecast of Showers and Temperature Drop

Rain and thunderstorms are predicted in East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, the northern shores of the Caspian Sea, North Khorasan, and North Razavi Khorasan. A relative drop in temperature is also expected in these areas. Specifically, the intensity of the precipitation system in eastern Ardabil, Gilan, Mazandaran, and Golestan is such that an orange weather alert has been issued.

The risks associated with these rains include flooding, seasonal river overflow, street flooding, and disruptions in transportation. Additionally, temporary strong winds, the breaking of old trees, and damage to temporary structures and agricultural products are also considered other dangers of this system.

Yellow Alerts and Safety Recommendations

In addition to the orange alert, a yellow weather alert has also been issued for the provinces of Gilan, Mazandaran, Golestan, North Khorasan, Razavi Khorasan, Ardabil, northern West Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan, and southwestern Kerman. This alert includes the possibility of rising river waters, surface runoff, and the breaking of old trees. In these conditions, caution is advised when passing through mountainous areas and avoiding parking vehicles near old trees and unfinished buildings.

In Tehran, strong winds are expected in the afternoon. The maximum temperature in Tehran will reach 28 degrees, which is a 2-degree drop compared to yesterday. Additionally, the average temperature in the country over the past week has increased by 2.8 degrees Celsius compared to the long-term average.

Meanwhile, the Caspian Sea, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Persian Gulf are also turbulent and choppy, and the increase in wind speed and wave height in coastal and offshore areas of Hormozgan province, as well as Gilan, Mazandaran, and Golestan provinces, has raised the risk of drowning for swimmers and divers. Therefore, it is essential to prohibit swimming and limit the movement of light and recreational boats.
