Nasrin Parvizi, Deputy of the Vocabulary Selection Group of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, announced the final approval of the word 'Goshine' as the Persian equivalent of the foreign word 'Headphone'. This decision was made after expert reviews and aimed at creating a precise semantic connection with the functions of various auditory devices.
Analysis and Review of Words
Parvizi explained this choice by saying: "Earlier, we had examined the word 'Goshine' in the general group, meaning what relates to the ear. Initially, we thought of creating a new word based on 'Headphone' with 'Head', like 'Earphone', which was also suggested by the public. However, we realized that some devices might be placed in or on the ear, and some may not even have a handle or may hang from the neck. Therefore, we decided to disregard the construction of a word with 'Head'.

Selecting the Appropriate Word
The Deputy of the Vocabulary Selection Group of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature added: "Subsequently, we examined words related to the ear. Of course, we had suggestions that did not use the word ear, but we thought that these words might be confused with other things. For this reason, we preferred to use the word 'Gosh'. By combining 'Gosh' and the suffix 'ine', which means relation, we approved the word 'Goshine' and also reviewed its various forms. This word was also among the suggested words by the public.
With the approval of this word, the Academy of Persian Language and Literature has taken another step towards preserving the Persian language and promoting indigenous words. 'Goshine' has now established itself as a new word in the Persian language and may become one of the commonly used words in the future.
