Morteza Dehghan, on the sidelines of the Firefighter Day commemoration at Zahedan International Airport, introduced the air transport industry as one of the key elements of power in the world. He emphasized the importance of airports and air navigation as the main pillars of transport infrastructure, stressing the necessity of providing safe services to people and aircraft within the framework of international laws and regulations.

International Standards and Domestic Capacities

Dehghan pointed out the necessity of adhering to the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), adding: "Compliance with these regulations, which include requirements and developments, requires structures, equipment, and specialized human resources, which fortunately our country possesses." He also reported on the operation of nearly 72 airports across the country, including international airports and air borders as well as domestic airports.

Air Exchanges and the Impact of War

The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development referred to air traffic exchanges with 12 neighboring countries and clarified that flights in Iranian airspace are conducted according to international regulations. Condemning the hostile actions of the United States in the recent war, he mentioned the damages caused by these attacks to 27 airports in Iran, stating: "These damages included flight levels, runways, aircraft parking, and safety and firefighting buildings, which required additional efforts to restore."

Dehghan stated that the main goal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development during the war was to maintain the stability of the country's logistics chain and the continuity of goods transportation. After the ceasefire, reopening airports was prioritized to alleviate the problems of passengers and traders.

Development of Equipment and Financial Resource Provision

The CEO of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company addressed the financial damages caused by the war in the area of transit flights and aircraft landings and takeoffs, announcing: "To compensate for the decrease in revenue, we have new financing methods on our agenda, including land monetization and partnerships with the private sector." He also mentioned efforts to purchase new equipment with government support.

Dehghan criticized the sanctions and threats from the United States against airlines, saying: "Despite all the pressures, we comply with all global standards. Our message to the international aviation community is that the sky of Iran is safe for all flights, and they can confidently use this route and avoid imposing additional costs on humanity."
