Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, left Moscow for Tehran a short while ago. He had traveled to Russia to participate in the summit of gas-producing countries and met with Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, on the sidelines of this summit.

Important Meetings on the Sidelines of the Summit

In the meeting between Masoud Pezeshkian and Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia expressed hope that the level of tensions in the Middle East would decrease. This meeting took place at a time when the Middle East is facing multiple challenges, and international cooperation, especially in the fields of energy and security, has become increasingly important.

Pezeshkian previously stated at the gas summit in Moscow that the United States, through unilateral sanctions and military interventions, has jeopardized the stability of the global energy market. These remarks reflect Iran's deep concerns about the impacts of sanctions on the global energy market and regional security.

Constructive Talks with the Emir of Qatar

Before meeting with Vladimir Putin, Masoud Pezeshkian also met with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar. This meeting was aimed at strengthening the relations between the two countries and discussing regional developments, particularly the latest status of negotiations, the Strait of Hormuz, and energy supply. According to a statement from the office of the Emir of Qatar, both sides emphasized the necessity of expanding political, economic, and commercial cooperation.

Pezeshkian's trip to Moscow came just hours after a quadrilateral meeting in Tehran on Monday, which included senior military and intelligence officials from Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. These trips and meetings reflect Iran's efforts to establish a strong network of regional cooperation in the face of existing challenges.

In light of recent developments in the region and the necessity for increased cooperation with neighbors, Masoud Pezeshkian is seeking to establish closer relations with neighboring countries, especially Qatar and Russia. These meetings could help reduce tensions and enhance security in the region.
