The Donald Trump administration, led by the President of the United States, recently indicated the possibility of a military attack on Iran, stating that Washington may "attack this country as soon as tomorrow" or reach a "big and beautiful" agreement. These remarks were made on October 24 and reflect the ongoing tensions between the two countries.

Obama's Criticism of Trump's Policies

Barack Obama, the former President of the United States, harshly criticized the Trump administration at a campaign rally in Michigan, accusing it of starting a pointless war with Iran. Obama stated that the initial justification for this war was to force Iran to abandon its nuclear program, while he believes that Iran does not have access to nuclear weapons and that the nuclear agreement, known as the JCPOA, signed during his presidency, prevented Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Obama continued by stating that as a result of this war, costs for American consumers have risen and the economic situation has also been affected. He pointed to the increase in oil and diesel prices, stating that this issue reflects the problems arising from tensions in the region.

Trump's Analysis of the Current Situation

The Trump administration emphasized that Iran is seeking to reach an agreement but expressed doubts about Iran's commitment to this agreement. Trump stated, "I have to resolve this issue once and for all. The only reason I am doing this is for that." He also mentioned the increase in oil shipments passing through the Strait of Hormuz but did not provide specific statistics in this regard.

These remarks by Trump come at a time when tensions in the Middle East, particularly regarding Iran and the United States, continue. He referred to new intelligence reports about Iran's efforts to target American military personnel in the Middle East and labeled Iran as "the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world."

Iran is currently in a sensitive situation, and these statements could escalate tensions. Meanwhile, the former President of the United States, Barack Obama, as a serious critic of the Trump administration, emphasized the need for diplomacy and dialogue, stating that a sustainable agreement can be reached without the need for war.
