Mahdi Youssef Khani, the secretary of the Slaughterhouse and Poultry Packaging Industries Association, pointed out the state of the chicken market in Tehran and informed reporters that 1,700 to 1,800 tons of chicken are distributed daily in this city. He added that due to excess supply against demand, the price of each kilogram of chicken has been offered below the approved rate in the market in recent months.
Prices in slaughterhouses and the market
Youssef Khani further referred to the price of live and fresh chicken and said: the price of each kilogram of live chicken in farms is 220,000 tomans and the price of fresh chicken is 330,000 tomans. These figures indicate the unfavorable market situation and pressure on producers who, due to reduced demand, are forced to sell chicken at a price lower than the approved rate.

Forecasting price changes
The secretary of the Slaughterhouse and Poultry Packaging Industries Association also referred to his forecasts regarding the price of chicken in the future and said: estimates indicate that from November 20 onwards, the price of chicken will improve, which will help producers reduce their losses and achieve a better situation. This change may be due to adjustments in the level of supply and demand in the market.
Youssef Khani also mentioned the supportive purchase of 100,000 tons of chicken by the Livestock Support Organization and emphasized that this action has led to a relative adjustment of prices. This supportive purchase can help strengthen the market situation and improve conditions for producers, and therefore, it is expected that with these measures, the chicken market will move towards balance.
Finally, Youssef Khani emphasized that these changes in chicken prices and market conditions are important not only for producers but also for consumers. Given that chicken is one of the most important protein sources in household diets, improving the market situation can have a positive impact on people's daily lives.
