Kacey Roquin, a woman from California, is known as an angel of mercy for migrant children in the detention center in Dilley, Texas. She sends nearly $10,000 each week to migrant families in dire conditions, helping them meet their basic needs.

The Story of Luis Sanchez and His Children

Luis Sanchez, a Nicaraguan citizen, had spent over three weeks with his four children in the migrant detention center in Dilley. He speaks of his children's anxiety and helplessness: "My eldest daughter had no nails left to bite, and my younger daughters were under immense pressure." Sanchez found it hard to bear his children's emotions in these circumstances.

In a conversation with a lawyer, he learned that Kacey Roquin could help him. Sanchez emailed Roquin for assistance, and a few days later, $200 was deposited into his account. With this money, he was able to buy necessary items for his children and alleviate some of their psychological pressure.

Kacey Roquin's Assistance to Migrant Families

Kacey Roquin, who refers to herself as "a mother from California," cares about how she can help migrant families affected by the strict policies of the U.S. government. She had previously helped families reunite with their children who had been separated in 2018.

Roquin is currently helping families of detainees in Dilley through public donations and fundraising. She says, "As soon as I learn that a family needs help, I act immediately. It is important to me that these kids feel someone is paying attention to them."

This assistance includes various items such as water, food, shampoo, and other necessities. Christian Eter, a lawyer with the Texas Immigration Rights Council, says about Roquin's role: "She is an angel of mercy. Without her, many families would not be able to survive in these tough conditions."

Despite the U.S. government spending $15 million each month on detaining families, many families still rely on Kacey Roquin's assistance. She hopes to continue these efforts to create better conditions for migrant children.
