The Iran Quality Management Association, in a meeting held on November 1, 2026, addressed the challenges and opportunities related to quality in the country. In this session, Dr. Farshid Shakarkhodai, the vice president of the association, regarded quality as an important and comprehensive issue that must be considered holistically. He criticized the media's focus on the automotive industry and called for greater attention to quality in economic institutions and public services.

Quality in Daily Life

Shakarkhodai emphasized in this meeting that quality is not limited to automobiles and should also be examined in the daily lives of people and the performance of organizations. He pointed out that the quality of life is influenced by factors such as access to suitable urban services and the effectiveness of laws, and these issues become even more significant in the current circumstances where young people are increasingly inclined to migrate.

Dr. Shakarkhodai also stressed the need for coherent technical regulations and said, "Many producers in Iran face conflicting requirements and evaluations, which leads to confusion in the market and increased production costs." He called for clear and coordinated technical requirements to be established by the responsible authorities.

The Need for Rethinking Organizational Management

Furthermore, Shakarkhodai referred to the importance of rethinking organizational management in light of the developments of the artificial intelligence era. He stated, "Managers must master the capabilities of artificial intelligence and digital transformation to improve decision-making and enhance the agility of organizations." This vice president of the association also emphasized the necessity of revising the education and training system to prepare the workforce in line with technological changes.

Amir Heydari, the Secretary-General of the Iran Quality Management Association, also announced at this meeting the celebration of the twenty-fourth National Quality Day, stating that this event helps promote a culture of quality in society. He emphasized the importance of transparency in quality assessment and said, "People should be able to distinguish between professional credibility and commercial advertising."

Heydari also urged the media to pay more attention to details when covering news about quality awards and badges and to inquire about selection criteria and evaluation methods. This action can help the public and businesses better understand genuine efforts to improve quality.

Hasan Forouzanfar, the head of the Governance Commission of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, also stressed the importance of linking quality to the responsibilities of boards of directors and said, "Quality must be part of the fundamental duties of managers to achieve sustainable development goals."

Given these discussions, it seems that the Iran Quality Management Association will vigorously pursue the development of technical regulations and the enhancement of quality in all areas in the coming year.
