Contractual lands in Iran will soon be equipped with official deeds following the approval of a new law. This action, announced by Alireza Goudarzi, Deputy for Development and Resource Management of the National Land Affairs Organization, aims to organize real estate transactions and enhance the credibility of official documents.
Establishing Ownership and Supporting Farmers
Goudarzi emphasized the advantages of this law, stating that obtaining official deeds for contractual lands will stabilize land ownership, precisely define the boundaries of agricultural lands, and provide greater legal protection for owners and beneficiaries. Consequently, farmers will be able to benefit from banking facilities and government support, leading to a reduction in property disputes and legal cases.

Process of Registering Ownership Claims
The law mandating the official registration of real estate transactions was announced in June 2024, and according to Article 10 of this law, holders of ownership claims based on unofficial documents must register their claims in the relevant system within legal deadlines. This action is intended to facilitate the acquisition of official deeds and clarify the legal status of the property. Goudarzi also warned that individuals who do not act within the specified deadlines for registering claims and obtaining deeds may not be able to rely on their contracts and ordinary documents in judicial authorities in the future.
Facilitating Access to Banking Facilities
One of the major challenges currently facing farmers is the non-acceptance of contractual documents as collateral by banks. By obtaining official deeds, the process of securing loans and banking guarantees for farmers will become much easier. This change provides farmers with the opportunity to continue their activities with greater peace of mind and benefit from better financial advantages.
Ultimately, with the approval of this law, it is hoped that Iranian farmers will be able to secure their rights to agricultural lands and, by obtaining official deeds, receive more support from the government and banks. This transformation could lead to increased production and improved living conditions for farmers, contributing to sustainable growth in the agricultural sector.
