The price of the dollar in today's transactions on Tuesday, October 5, 2026, reached 268,000 tomans, indicating a 2,000 toman increase compared to the previous day. The American banknote had managed to break the 270,000 toman corridor in the early hours of yesterday's trading, but later in the day, due to a slight easing of emotional demand, it experienced a downward trend and fell to 266,000 tomans.

The Impact of the Central Bank's Currency Supply on Dollar Price

Today, despite the continued currency supply from the Central Bank, the dollar once again moved upward. It seems that the currency supply from the Central Bank has somewhat reduced the pace of price increases, but it has not been able to completely halt the upward trend. The market remains caught between two opposing forces; on one hand, the currency supply and the market maker's efforts to control prices, and on the other hand, the psychological atmosphere resulting from political developments and concerns about rising inflation, which has kept demand at high levels.

The Euro Moves in the Opposite Direction of the Dollar

Meanwhile, the euro traded at 300,000 tomans, down 6,000 tomans from the previous day. Economic experts believe that the dollar's resistance ceiling is at the 275,000 toman level, and if this ceiling is broken and political ambiguities continue, the dollar could rise to 300,000 tomans. However, many analysts believe that the real price of the dollar under current conditions is lower than the current market price.

They say that the recent increase in the dollar price is mainly due to the psychological atmosphere of political developments and concerns about rising inflation, rather than real economic backing. According to these analysts, with any positive political news, the dollar quickly returns to lower levels, indicating that a significant portion of the current price is driven by psychological expectations.
