Seyyed Hassan Mousavi Chelyk, Deputy for Social Health at the Welfare Organization of the country, announced the identification of over ٧٠,٠٠٠ individuals at risk of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This plan was implemented after the ٤٠-day war and involved the participation of ٤٣٥,١٥٩ individuals, of whom ٤٥% were men and the rest women.

Program Goals and Initial Results

Mousavi Chelyk pointed out the main goal of this program, which is the timely identification of individuals in need of psychological services, stating: Based on risk stratification, over ٧٠,٠٠٠ participants were classified in the high-risk group, and they were contacted for follow-up and necessary interventions.

Among the high-risk individuals, ٣٦,٧٤٤ provided their informed consent to receive specialized services and follow-up. In the active follow-up phase, successful contact was established with ٢٥,٩١١ individuals, and ٢٣,٢٦٨ were referred to counseling and psychology centers for specialized services. So far, over ١١,٠٠٠ individuals have received counseling services.

Analysis of Age and Educational Groups

Mousavi Chelyk also analyzed the age and educational groups of the participants. The highest number of participants in this plan had a diploma, accounting for ١٢٦,٢٤٢ individuals, or ٢٩% of all participants. Individuals with a bachelor's degree also ranked next with ١٠٢,٠٣٥ individuals, or ٢٣.٤%.

The age group of ١٨ to ٢٥ years had the highest number of participants, with ٧٦,٠٨٠ individuals, accounting for ١٧.٤%. Following them were the age groups of ٣٦ to ٤٠ years with ١٥.٨% and ٤١ to ٤٥ years with ١٥.٦%.

Mousavi Chelyk noted that this plan was carried out in collaboration with ministries and various organizations, including the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Ministry of Education, the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation, the Red Crescent Society, and other counseling centers. Additionally, some psychology-related counseling centers participated voluntarily in this process.

He emphasized the importance of coordination among agencies in wartime conditions, adding: This program reflects solidarity and collective will to support the victims. Nevertheless, Mousavi stressed the need to eliminate bureaucratic obstacles and utilize all capacities to raise awareness among the public so that supportive and psychological programs can be effectively realized in critical conditions.
