Making apple jam is one of the most enjoyable tasks in the kitchen, and by following simple tips, you can achieve a delicious and delightful result. In this report, we will go through the steps to make colorful and well-textured apple jam.

Ingredients for Making Apple Jam

To make high-quality apple jam, you will need the following ingredients:

  • Chopped yellow apples: 1 kilogram
  • Sugar: 750 grams (you can increase it to 1 kilogram)
  • Rosewater: 2 tablespoons
  • Steeped saffron: 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh lemon juice: 3 tablespoons
  • Cardamom: 2 pieces
  • Water: 300 milliliters

Steps to Make the Jam

To start, wash the apples thoroughly and peel them. Then cut the apples in half and remove the hard core and seeds. Chop the apple pieces into small, evenly-sized cubes so they cook uniformly during the process.

To prevent the apples from darkening, place them in cold water with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. In a suitable pot, mix 750 grams of sugar with 1 and 1/4 cups of water and place it over heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil.

Remove the chopped apples from the lemon water and add them to the boiling syrup. Once it comes to a boil again, reduce the heat to let the apples cook gently. At this stage, if any foam forms on the jam, remove it with a spoon.

Adding Aroma and Flavor to the Jam

When the apples start to soften, add the cardamom to the jam to infuse its aroma into the syrup. Towards the end of cooking, add 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of thick steeped saffron, stirring gently to distribute the saffron color well in the syrup.

Finally, add 2 tablespoons of rosewater to the jam to preserve its fragrance. Continue cooking until the apples are soft and translucent, and the syrup thickens. To ensure the jam's consistency, pour a small amount of syrup onto a saucer and let it cool. If it thickens after cooling, the jam is ready.

After turning off the heat, allow the jam to cool completely, then pour it into a clean, dry jar and store it in the refrigerator. To maintain the quality of the jam, it is recommended to use healthy and firm apples.
