Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Javad Haj Ali Akbari, in this week's Friday prayer sermons in Tehran, stressed the importance of living a chaste life and its impact on the family. He said: "Living a chaste life is one of the most important aspects of social responsibility, and the relationship between chaste living and family is worth contemplating." He stated that a global war led by the West against the family is underway, with its main weapon being the promotion of immorality and shamelessness in human societies.
Family in Crisis and the Need for National Attention
Haj Ali Akbari pointed to the state of the family in the West, saying: "The light of the family in the West is dimming." He claimed that Iran is not immune to this wave of global war against the family and that attention must be paid to the alarming situation regarding family establishment, divorce, and childbearing. According to him, the Iranian nation must launch a national movement to protect the family, relying on the values of chastity and modesty.

Promoting Chastity and Modesty as a Social Necessity
Hojjatoleslam Haj Ali Akbari continued: "Chaste living must be prioritized for the protection and preservation of the family." He cited verses from the Quran, saying: "Take care of yourselves and protect yourselves." He added: "If you raise the barrier of modesty and chastity against the Western lifestyle, you can pass through safely and be the savior of humanity."
He also referred to the necessity of national self-building in family matters, stating: "This collective effort requires a national movement." Haj Ali Akbari emphasized that this action could benefit not only Iran but also help save other communities.
Protecting the Foundations of Family as a Shared Responsibility
Hojjatoleslam Haj Ali Akbari stressed that safeguarding the family is a shared responsibility, saying: "Achieving this requires the participation of all sectors of society." He also referred to a verse from Surah Al-Ma'idah, stating: "The Holy Quran says: O you who have believed, protect yourselves."
The Friday prayer leader in Tehran criticized the reduction of the issue of chastity and modesty to individual choices, saying: "The subject of family and chastity must be viewed with greater care and sensitivity." He pointed to recent events related to the movement known as 'Women, Life, Freedom,' stating that these developments cannot be separated from political policies and orientations.
Hojjatoleslam Haj Ali Akbari concluded by emphasizing the necessity of strengthening Quranic culture and solidifying the family, saying: "If the Iranian nation enters the field relying on divine teachings, it can become a model for other nations."
