Heavy traffic on the roads and highways of Tehran due to recent rainfall has become one of the main challenges for drivers. Colonel Firooz Keshir, the social and traffic culture deputy of Tehran's traffic police, spoke about the traffic situation on various routes and provided recommendations for drivers.

Traffic Situation on Main Routes

Colonel Keshir, referring to heavy traffic on the east-west route of Sadr Highway, from Kamranieh Boulevard to Modarres, as well as on Shahid Babaei Highway from Hengam Boulevard to Imam Ali (AS) Bridge, described the condition of the roads as unfavorable. Additionally, Shahid Soleimani Highway from Imam Ali (AS) to Seyyed Khandan Bridge has also experienced heavy traffic.

This situation is not limited to the east-west routes. On the south-north route, Shahid Raeisi Highway to Shahid Mahallati Highway and also Ayatollah Saeedi Highway from Yaftabad to Hashemi Street are witnessing heavy traffic. Sheikh Fazlollah Noori Highway from Janah Bridge to before Jalal Al Ahmad Bridge and Navab Safavi Highway from 9 Dey to Towhid Tunnel are also affected by the rainfall.

Recommendations for Drivers

Colonel Keshir emphasized the slippery conditions of the roads due to rainfall, advising drivers to maintain control of their vehicles by reducing speed and increasing the following distance from the vehicles ahead during rainy conditions. Additionally, drivers should avoid sudden lane changes and abrupt braking to prevent unfortunate incidents.

He also suggested that drivers improve visibility by turning on their vehicle lights and paying more attention to the road ahead. Observing safe speeds and avoiding risky behaviors while driving were other important points that Colonel Keshir highlighted.

These tips, especially on rainy days when traffic is heavier than usual, can help reduce accidents and protect the lives of drivers and passengers. Given these conditions, it is expected that drivers will drive more carefully and help prevent heavy traffic.
