Hamid Najari Asl, in discussions about Tehran's surface water management, elaborated on the performance of the main network during the recent heavy rains. He announced that, given the meteorological warnings and heavy rainfall, this network has demonstrated its efficiency by collecting and safely directing runoff to flood management tunnels and channels.
Optimal Performance of the Surface Water Management Network
According to Najari Asl, based on reports from the Execution and Supervision Department of Kahriz Ab Company, the performance of the main surface water management network in the Tehran watershed has been very satisfactory. This performance has not only helped reduce the risks associated with floods but also demonstrates the readiness and capability of the city's infrastructure to face adverse weather conditions.

Flood Management Projects on the Agenda
The CEO of Kahriz Ab Company also mentioned more than 10 flood management projects currently underway. Projects such as the organization of the flood diversion in Saadoughi Square, the Shaegh Canal on Marzaran Street, the Sarkheh Hasar Canal in District 20, and the Kahn River in District 18 are among the key and impactful projects of this company. These projects are designed and being implemented to improve and enhance the surface water management system in Tehran.
Najari Asl emphasized that Kahriz Ab Company, as the executor of the comprehensive surface water management plan in Tehran, is responsible for constructing the main structures of this network. Upon completion of these projects, they will be handed over for operation and connection to the flood management circuit to the Urban Services Department and the 22 districts of Tehran.
These actions and projects reflect the serious determination of officials to reduce the risks associated with floods and improve urban infrastructure.
