This medal was not only the first gold for Iranian women at the Nagoya Asian Games, but it also made Fatemeh the first woman in the history of Iranian rowing to win a gold medal in this event.

Continuous Efforts and Dedication of the Medal to the Girls of Iran

In her remarks after winning the gold medal in lightweight rowing, Fatemeh Majall stated: “I thank God. I appreciate everyone who helped me on this journey. I am very happy that I could raise my country's flag and bring joy to the dear people of Iran.” Expressing her happiness about the color of her medal, she referred to her historic achievement and said: “Yes, we did not have a gold medal in women's rowing in the history of the Asian Games, and I am the first person. I worked very hard to break this spell and be the first girl to win gold for our beloved country in this sport.”

Majall spoke with emotion about her two years of efforts to achieve this success, mentioning the tough training conditions in winter and summer. She also thanked the Minister of Sports and Youth for the separation of the rowing federation, stating: “This really helped us to progress. Our federation has made significant advancements during this time, and we owe this gold to this event.”

In the end, the golden girl of Iranian rowing dedicated her medal to Iranian girls, expressing: “I hope all the girls of Iran succeed in all fields.”
