Ehsan Khairatian Safai, head of the Environmental Department of District One in Tehran, announced the registration of ancient trees in Shemiran and said: "In order to protect the trees and gardens in this area, more than 3,226 identification codes have been registered for them." This action is aimed at preserving the natural heritage and preventing damage to the trees.
Division of Areas and Acceleration of Identification Process
Khairatian Safai further stated that to expedite the implementation of this plan, the ten areas have been divided into two eastern and western zones. Expert teams are monitoring the trees daily and following up on the completion of the files. These experts are working to accelerate the identification and registration process of the trees by conducting continuous inspections and pursuing legal permits.

Protection of Ancient Trees; A Red Line for Urban Management
Khairatian Safai emphasized that the protection of ancient trees is a red line for urban management. He stated: "Monitoring of trees has gone beyond the streets, and oversight of private properties will also be strengthened to prevent any damage or cutting of trees." These concerns arise from the high importance of ancient trees and their role in the ecosystem and natural beauty of the area.
According to the planned schedule, the files for registering the gardens in District One will be finalized and completed within a month. This action not only helps protect the trees but can also increase public awareness about the importance of trees and gardens in urban life.
Khairatian Safai concluded by noting that this plan could serve as a model for other areas of Tehran and help protect the urban environment. Given the environmental challenges that Tehran faces, such actions can play a significant role in creating positive changes in urban green spaces.
