Colonel Masoud Golpasand, Deputy for Vehicle Theft Combat at Tehran's Criminal Investigation Police, reported the discovery of parts from stolen vehicles and the arrest of a suspect in this regard. This discovery occurred following investigations into the buying and selling of accident-damaged and burned vehicles.

Details of the Discovery of Suspicious Vehicles

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Police became suspicious of a Peugeot Pars vehicle during their investigations. After purchase, this vehicle had its license plates changed and was handed over to another individual. For further examination, the vehicle was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Police. Experts found that this vehicle had a history of body replacement and some of its parts belonged to a stolen vehicle that has not yet been discovered.

Investigations and Identification of Suspects

Investigations from the vehicle's owner revealed that he had purchased the vehicle from another individual. Checking the vehicles registered in this person's name led to the identification of another Peugeot Pars. This vehicle was also transferred to the relevant department for specialized examination, where experts confirmed the presence of parts belonging to a stolen vehicle.

The owner of the second vehicle also stated that he purchased it from the same seller. Colonel Golpasand stated that the documentation was compiled and added that, by order of the judicial authority, the suspect has been arrested. During the investigations, the suspect claimed that he had purchased the mentioned vehicles in accident-damaged or burned condition and had handed them over to another individual. According to him, one of the vehicles was later returned to him in good condition, and the other vehicle was sold by the same person.

Colonel Golpasand noted that the suspect has been transferred to prison after the case was formed and a judicial order was issued, and investigations to identify the individual linked to the case and to examine the possibility of other vehicles with stolen parts are still ongoing. This case represents broader dimensions of vehicle-related crimes in Tehran and shows how the market for buying and selling vehicles can become a refuge for illegal activities.
