The navigation-centric infrastructure of Tehran's traffic plan is being implemented thanks to Pouria Alimardani. According to his statements, despite planning to shift to this method, the infrastructure for cameras and related software has not been fully established yet.
Emphasis on Infrastructure Preparation
Pouria Alimardani, CEO of the Tehran Municipality's Transportation and Traffic Organization, explained that contracts related to the provision of the necessary infrastructure for implementing this plan have been signed, and the traffic control company is taking steps to provide this infrastructure. He stated, "With the establishment of this infrastructure, we can guide the traffic plan towards a navigation-centric approach; meaning that the amount of vehicle navigation in the central area of Tehran will be effective in calculating fees."

Difference in Fee Calculation
Alimardani continued, "In this new model, the more a vehicle navigates in the central area of Tehran, the more fees will be charged to the citizen." He emphasized that this method has not yet reached the implementation stage, adding, "Currently, the same entry and exit method that existed in the past is the basis for calculating fees, and changing it to a navigation-centric model requires the completion of camera and software infrastructure."
The CEO of the Tehran Municipality's Transportation and Traffic Organization also noted, "With the establishment and strengthening of this infrastructure, which has been planned and contracts signed and is currently being implemented, it will be possible for the number of trips and the amount of vehicle navigation in the central area of Tehran to have a greater impact on the amount of fees paid."
Pouria Alimardani finally stated, "The traffic control company is taking actions related to this section, and with the completion of the necessary infrastructure, the possibility of moving towards the implementation of a navigation-centric traffic plan will be provided."
